With the passage of more than four decades since the Islamic Revolution, the country’s media have made various topics the subject of producing cultural products according to their type, capacity, and audience. The Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), as the most important mass media in the country, is no exception to this and has put various topics, genres, and structures on its agenda in the period after the Islamic Revolution. The main goal of this research is to examine the representation of foreigners in the popular Iranian series in the four decades after the Islamic Revolution (1980-2021). For this purpose, four series, "Amir-Kabiir", "Kif-e-Ingilisi" (The English Bag), "Madaar-e Sefr Darajeh" (The Zero-Degree Orbit), and "Kolah-e-Pahlavi" (Pahlavi Hat), were selected. The qualitative semiotic analysis method of Selby and Cowdery was applied to analyze the series. The results suggest that: 1) The presence of the British, mainly in the form of politicians, is depicted in all four series, in order to once again emphasize the attribute of "old colonialism" of England; 2) In the representations, three categories of foreigners have been the focus of the series’ creators: enemy, friend, and neutral; 3) The focus is on Western foreigners such as Germany, France, England, Russia, and America, and no trace of Eastern aliens is observed; 4) Some of the main traits and stereotypes represented of the “foreigner” are: bold, strong, eloquent, responsible, agile, thoughtful, savior, intelligent, powerful, patient, steadfast, colonialist, superior, exploiter, domineering, bully, oppressor, despot, feminist, evil, and self-interested.
